Bad Korma
Loyd Grossman has had a terrible week. The US export famed for his unlikely British accent, shows like Through The Keyhole and most recently his tasty brand of curry sauces, was put in the spotlight after cases of botulism were linked to a batch of Loyd Grossman Korma Sauce.
As a usually reliable trusted supermarket staple, the story surrounding the sauce has made quite some impact. As the third case of botulism emerged yesterday, another spike in mentions was apparent. Yet, Brandwatch’s data shows that before the story broke, Grossman and his sauces were little talked about.

It makes sense that people generally enjoy Grossman’s sauces in silence. There is no need to discuss any recipe – it’s a ready made sauce – and although usually reliably delicious, people don’t deem them exciting enough to boast about.

The renouned sauce is further damned in our wordcloud. It is a devastating impact from just three cases, within the same family, which are now not believed to be linked to Grossman’s factory.
It would be interesting to see if the mental association with the story has any impact on the millions of Brits destined for an Indian takeaway this weekend – I’ll be opting for a Chinese .
