Armistice Day
Since 7am this morning, Armistice day and related topics have dominated trends on Twitter.

So it felt only right to dedicate today’s Friday# to Remembrance Day.
This year has seen various issues crop up in those celebrating, Armistice Day, or not. First a row with FIFA which demanded that Prince William had a word, in order to let the English team wear a poppy on their black armband for the game this Saturday to remember the fallen. We have also seen the banning of Muslims Against Crusades – who as part of their protests last year, burned poppies. Along with the perennial row over ‘bling’ poppies and the reality that only a modest proportion of the profit goes to the British Legion.
The UK papers this morning are crowing about Theresa May’s banning on Muslims Against Crusades, giving them vital column inches and attention, but are the public rising to it this time?

The wordcloud shows that while the pride towards our footballers being allowed to wear poppies is worth observing, time dedicated to hating and any political or religious agenda is not. Our thoughts are only with the fallen heroes, their families and remembrance.
